How Many More?

It occurred to me this evening that life is very short. And very fragile. I've said it many times before but now, I'm feeling it deep down in my gut!

In the midst of a lovely family celebration, surrounded by people I love, I received news of the untimely death of a friend.

At first, I was stunned. I could hardly speak and what I finally said made no sense.

This man was only 56 years old - too young to die! He had a wife and family -  good reasons to live.

It just keeps happening! Seems our only social life consists of going to visitations and funerals.

I wonder how many more before it stops.  Or at least slows down.

Too often, Death brushes my sleeve as He hurries past.

  1. They say death comes in threes but it sounds like your getting a double dose. I'm sorry.

  2. Yes, death is sad and it does seem to come in threes. We just have to get through it somehow. Sorry, peg.
